Lago Flute Quartet was founded in the fall of 2003 at Carnegie Mellon University In Pittsburgh, PA. "Lago" is an English acronym for the initials of each of the original group members' name translated into Spanish/Italian. Lago's debut album, "...beginnings," was released in October 2005. In early summer 2005, the group returned from a two-week tour of Chile, which included performances in Santiago and at the Fourth International Flute Festival of Chile in Osorno. Lago performed in March 2005 for the Royal Family of Qatar at the Inaugural Gala of Carnegie Mellon's campus in Education City, Qatar. In August 2004, Lago was a guest performer in the Gala Concert Other honors include finishing as a semi-finalist in the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition 2005, guest appearances at the Greater Boston Flute Association and the Pittsburgh Flute Club Conventions and invitations to play at functions hosted by Jared L. Cohon, President of Carnegie Mellon University. |
